The Road to Ruby's

This birthday, I can't help thinking about the long road from Rosewood to Ruby's. We were so sorry to have to close Rosewood when covid came along, but there was no way to make it work at that time in that location on the corner. Three and a half years later, we will have our final inspection this morning, and if all goes well, we can open our doors and again welcome our friends and neighbors to share good food and drink and linger in the cozy place that we've created. We hope to do a soft opening on Wednesday 8/9, and we'll keep you posted! To everyone who came to the farmers market and bought crepes, honey, and cakes over the past couple of years, thank you! To everyone who helped us with this project in any way, thank you! To everyone who has stopped by or dropped us a line online with words of encouragement, thank you! You have kept us going, and it wouldn't have been possible to put this together without you. When I step back and consider that the majority of independently owned restaurants and bars in the US (and all over the world!) closed in 2020, I feel humbled and so very fortunate to have the chance to try again and to be part of the comeback from the pandemic. It's wonderful to see the empty storefronts in our downtown no longer dark and vacant. There are a lot of people trying to make a go of it in our little town! We are so happy to be a part of it. See you soon!
